48hr, 72hr ,96hr Cumulative Irritation Patch Tests

Cumulative Irritation Patch Tests are conducted in a panel consisting of approximately 25 volunteers. They are performed for 48h, 72h or 96h depending on the type of product to be tested.

Typically, we would suggest a:

  • 48h Cumulative Irritation Patch Test for “wash off” products such as shampoos or shower gels
  • 72h Cumulative Irritation Patch Test for “laundry” products
  • 96h Cumulative Irritation Patch Test for “leave on” products such as moisturisers or cosmetics

Skin reactions would be assessed by highly trained assessors, throughout the course of the study and a programme of statistical analysis would be conducted at the end to analyse and compare the study results for Erythema, Dryness and Irritation. Results would then be compared to suitable controls.
